Anger
Sometimes we artists let our emotions be known in our work, and this is currently how I'm feeling.
This is because of one reason completely out of my hands, in recent times two drug dealers were caught in Bali, these two Australian's were caught and found guilty, their sentence was death by firing squad, in the time leading up to their death the Australian government tried to save them but failed, I'm glad they did, how many peoples lives would have been ruined by those drugs.
Now after their death their bodies are being flown home like they were hero's, this pisses me fucking right off, we have men and women fighting Isis and God knows what other monsters and yet we are making hero's out of fucking drug dealers..... AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I understand your sentiment, but you should be at least a little angry: these people were busted for possession, they may not even necessarily have been dealers. If you can be EXECUTED for possession!? I live in NYC. We used to have the Rockefeller Drug Law, and that flooded the prisons with kids looking to score a dime bag going to jail for 10 or more years, and that was so excessive they repealed it. This is about injustice: we shouldn't be deifying drug dealers, but we should be condemning the actions of the Indonesian government.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we should be, if it is their law that such actions result in execution, then so be it.
DeleteIf you enter another county and are found guilty by their laws you should be punished for it, if they had been stopped in Australia then they would have been punished by our laws, but they weren't they were caught in Bali, where their crime resulted in justice meaning death.
It might have seemed extreme from out point of view but it's their right to punish by their own laws and customs and the government should never have stepped in to help them, for years now many people have been caught with drugs and caught, if they haven't learned by now, then they never will and I will never shed a tear for their stupidity.
